Who the course is for
Aimed at participants from all sectors, particularly those who may be at risk of possible occupational exposure to hepatitis. This course can be offered either as a shortened half day (3 hours) course or as a more comprehensive one-day course.
Aim
To provide basic up-to-date information on hepatitis and workplace issues, to help participants to consider the risk factors of occupational exposure to hepatitis, and to help in their hepatitis prevention work.
Training outcomes
By the end of the course participants will:
- Have explored the differences between the main forms of hepatitis.
- Have explored the main routes of hepatitis transmission.
- Have explored infection control in relation to hepatitis.
- Have explored key risk assessment issues.
- Have explored the appropriateness of hepatitis A and hepatitis B vaccination.
The full 1 day course can also include:
- Diagnosis and testing.
- Treatment options.
- Working with clients affected by hepatitis.
- Prevention interventions with injectors.
- Workplace specific exercises.
