Training courses
Our training is bespoke - commissioned by organisations to meet the needs of their staff teams, users and volunteers. We do not have an open access programme. We offer a number of training packages, all very adaptable. A range of previous courses are listed elsewhere
Guidance on costs
John Mosley offers top quality training, at competitive prices. My aim is to make course affordable and accessible to a wide range of organisations. These training rates are for guidance, and are negotiable. Higher rates may apply if external trainers are required, or large amounts of preparation needed. A full quote can be provided on a no-obligation basis.
1 day trainer rate voluntary/charity: £450
1 day NHS/local authority etc: £600
1 day commercial (business) rate: £700
Higher rates may apply if external trainers are required, and a full quote can be provided on a no-obligation basis.
Discounted training
If you have never hired us before, we can offer a special 50% off our standard course cost, for one-off training days. This is so you may evaluate our product - at a discounted price, as low as £15 per person!
This discount is for courses that involve little development work, or limited tailoring to suit your organisation. It applies to the drug and alcohol awareness course and HIV awareness courses only. These are the courses msot often requested.

Flexible approach to accommodate your needs and budget
We will consider 1/2 day events, twilight sessions lasting a couple of hours, coffee mornings, drop-in taster sessions etc.
We would consider a short 'taster' input to your team meeting.
To be cost effective, these sessions ideally should be spread over a period of a day, reaching out to different teams or partner agencies.
Discounts may be available for larger contracts
The course purchaser will be expected to reimburse travel expenses and an overnight stay, if required.
All courses are tailored to individual organisations. A full discussion of training requirements is part of the training package.
The rates are for trainer cost only, and do not include venue, catering, large delegate packs or other additional costs.
A number of our courses include a cd-rom handout for each participant.
For smaller organisations, it may be useful and economic to arrange training with other agencies, often in partnership with the local Drug and Alcohol Action Team.
If needed, I can provide support and guidance for organisations wishing to explore this avenue.
If you are interested, you will need to know that our daily rate for one trainer is at least £ 600 for NHS/local authority, plus any travel and accommodation costs. Days usually run from 9.30am to 4.30pm. The courses can be for up to 16 participants (per trainer), so for a day long course, relatively near one of our trainers, will cost you less than £40.00 per person (for a course of 16). This is lot less than the cost of sending people on a standard external course organised training organisations, so if you have a number of people to train, this is a more economical option for you. You also get the course that you need, not just a standard off-the-shelf course.

Designed to deliver results
There are other training providers out there doing what I do and offering 'added value'. But, have any of them ever specifically asked what represents added value for you?
The added value benefits of tailored in-house training are considerable and John Mosley has been successfully providing a training service to one main corporate client and over twenty public sector and voluntary sector clients for over fifteen years.
personalisation: The degree of personalisation that I can bring will ensure retention of the core issues whilst covering local/organisational issues. I also involve the stakeholders, when requested, to identify and design the best possible solutions.
customer service: I pride myself on the customer service I provide to clients. I work with a small number of clients, allowing to build up a real partnership with clients.
reliability: How often have other providers let you down? Arrived late? Not up to the job?
diversity: I can help services develop by developing their diversity approach, taking account, for example, the obligations placed by the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000.
communication: I can work with all levels of employees / volunteers and help design policies, carry out audits, communicate information effectively and train staff, volunteers and service users.
high quality materials: All materials are either devised or adapted for local use. It is possible to develop web based handouts and support material - interactive exercises, quizzes, reference material, access to key documents.
A local CD resource could be included as part of the training package.
activity based learning which is relevant and memorable: Experience is provided through discussion groups, exercises, role-plays and case studies. I can help participants identify the 'real world' issues around the subject and so relate training content to work practice.
summary sessions: Small groups and plenary session provide the opportunity for participants to form their own conclusions and to come up with their local approach to various situations.
